Professional summary

Terhi is the Flux Network Manager of the UKCEH network of eddy covariance sites, which quantify water fluxes and greenhouse gas net balances in various ecosystem types, ranging from pristine peatlands and saltmarshes to croplands and bioenergy plantations.

Her expertise is ecosystem ecology, particularly carbon dynamics and primary productivity. She has worked in forests and peatlands across boreal, temperate and tropical zones, examining the impact of different anthropogenic pressures such as climate change, land use change, and ecosystem degradation and fragmentation.
