Summary of Professional Expertise
As Field Instrument Engineer at CEH Bangor, I design, maintain and upgrade environmental monitoring sites situated in remote locations. I use renewable energy solutions such as solar panels and wind turbines connected to regulators and banks of batteries to power data logging systems. I wire data loggers using wiring diagrams and program them to record data and calculate meaningful outputs for analysis. I design data logging and telemetry systems using Labview and Linux tools to remotely control data loggers and to synchronise data onto shared storage. I quality control the data using SQL, ‘R’, and Excel and produce graphs and reports. I also design, test and produce custom circuit boards for in-house instruments using Multisim Electronics Design Software.
I have a BSc in Computer Science from McGill University (First) and an HND in Electronic/Electrical Engineering (Distinction) from London South Bank University. I have Off-Road Driving, Outdoor First Aid and Outdoor Winter Skills certificates. I am a motivated, proficient worker and enjoy creating robust solutions to technically challenging problems. I have the teamwork and communication skills to successfully meet the objectives of the project.
