Professional summary

Mhairi has expertise in the measurement and modelling of the land-atmosphere exchange of trace-gases and aerosols. She mainly worked on ground-level ozone trends, UK climate and deposition until 2018 when she moved to the James Hutton Institute to work of the GHG dynamics of Scottish peatlands. Mhairi currently works 75% at Hutton and 25% at UKCEH. At Hutton her focus is on measuring GHG exchange over Scottish peatlands to aid efforts to restore them to a functional sink and understand their responses to climate change.

Mhairi's particular experience is in measuring and modelling the deposition, concentrations and trends of ground-level ozone, although she has worked in other areas including acid deposition and NH3 exchange. She also assists with instrumentation for field sites and campaigns.
