Kathryn is the Operations Manager for the Environmental Information Data Centre (EIDC), NERC's Environmental Data Centre for the terrestrial and freshwater sciences. She works as part of NERC's Environmental Data Service to ensure environmental data of long-term value are preserved and curated for future generations and made more FAIR (Findable, Accessible. Interoperable and Reusable).
Kathryn is particularly interested in data publication, data citation and DOIs, quality assurance, CoreTrustSeal certification and stakeholder engagement and comms
Kathryn started her career as a plant-soil interactions ecologist before moving into data standards. Since 2008 she has worked as part of UKCEH's Environmental Data Science group developing the EIDC into the CoreTrustSeal certified repository it is today.
