Professional summary
James is an environmental spatial data manager in the Land, Soil and Coast team at Bangor. He primarily supports the environmental monitoring work of the LSC team, specifically the long-term national monitoring program for Wales (a component of ERAMMP), through management of Wales National Field Survey data. He contributes spatial data analysis to projects including AI4SoilHealth, Saltmarsh Code and ERAMMP.
His interests include long-term environmental monitoring and facilitating the use and re-use of data by publication in accordance with FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable) data principles. Prior to working at UKCEH, he completed a PhD in geology, geochemistry and stratigraphy at the University of Oxford and worked at the Polar Data Centre, British Antarctic Survey.
