Professional summary

Danial is a Spatial Analyst and is interested in implementing his GIS and analysis experience to map and evaluate the distribution and benefits of green infrastructure, particularly in urban settings. With a background in social science, Danial is particularly interested in exploring aspects of equity and and the extent to which different populations have access to green infrastructure and subsequent benefits.

Prior to UKCEH, Danial was a PhD candidate on the Data Analytics and Society, ESRC funded, CDT. His PhD aims to promote the role of geography in Data Science by utilizing Machine Learning techniques and new forms of spatial data to uncover and contextualise insights on urban processes. Danial is currently working towards finishing his PhD.

During his PhD and his role as a Spatial Analyst, Danial has worked with a variety of data types and analytical/programming software. He has experience working with both raster and vector data and most comfortable visualising and analysing spatial data using Python and QGIS.
