Research Interests

My research interests lie in the field of air pollution impacts on ecosystems particularly focusing on nitrogen deposition. I provide underpinning atmospheric science support to UK stakeholders including pollution regulators and nature conservation practitioners. My work has included the design and development of application tools, knowledge systems and screening models in the area of impact assessment. In addition I provide guidance and advice on mitigation measures for ammonia emissions from agriculture, and have conducted research into the effects of using trees in the landscape to mitigate against ammonia emissions from livestock practices.

I am currently the Project Coordinator for the UKRI GCRF South Asian Nitrogen Hub project. And previously the PI for the NERC funded Valuing Nature Programme and a co-activity lead within the UN Environment project Towards an International Nitrogen Management System (INMS). The activity determines nitrogen fluxes and transformations through the N-cycle.
