Professional summary

Alexandra is the laboratory manager of the UKCEH microplastics analysis facility. She carries out spectroscopic analysis and data manipulation, including Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and Laser Direct Infrared (LDIR) microscopy for detection of microplastics in environmental samples.

Alexandra also has experience in sample management and preparation of a wide range of environmental samples and assists in routine culturing of invertebrates for ecotoxicological study. She has a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Plymouth and during a year in industry, she assisted in running field pesticide efficacy trials.
