Professor James Bullock and Dr Chris Huntingford of the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH) have appeared on the annual Highly Cited Researchers list.

Names on the annual global list are drawn from papers that rank in the top one per cent by citations for scientific field and publication year, thereby demonstrating significant research influence among their peers. It is produced by analytics company Clarivate.

Prof Bullock, an ecologist, and climate modeller Dr Huntingford are both recognised for the impact of their cross-field research.

Prof Bullock says: “This award shows how UKCEH is world-leading in cross-disciplinary environmental science. I work and publish with many scientists across UKCEH, so this achievement reflects a truly joint effort.”

Dr Huntingford adds: “This really is a special accolade, not just for me but UKCEH in general. It is recognition of how laboratories funded by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) provide the framework for long-term and comprehensive scientific investigation of global environmental issues.”

In total, more than 7,000 researchers from around the world appear on the Highly Cited Researchers 2023 list, which is available on the Clarivate website.
