We were delighted to host our inaugural Trustees dinner at the Royal Institution in London last month. The event brought together our scientists and trustees with representatives from government, science, NGOs and businesses. An opportunity to showcase the depth and diversity of our work and unveil our new brand, the informative and enjoyable evening saw great discussions on working in partnership to help deliver solutions and ideas for the environment.
Many thanks to entrepreneur and Dragon’s Den panellist, Deborah Meaden, who joined us for a fireside chat with UKCEH Associate Science Director for Land Atmosphere Interactions Jeanette Whitaker. They shared insights on how UKCEH’s science can benefit businesses. Also, thanks to classically trained violinist Ellie Wilson who gave a fantastic performance of Moth X Human – a brilliant collaboration inspired by using data from moth activity which Ellie composed to raise awareness of the importance of night-time pollinators.

UKCEH Executive Director of Partnerships and Impact, Alison Sternberg Robinson, comments:
“It was such an inspiring evening full of great conversations, hope and opportunity with our fantastic scientists providing great insight into the work we do here at UKCEH. I was struck by the fact that all those attending recognise the need for us all to work in partnership to help deliver impactful solutions for the benefit of our environment. It was great to generate so many new connections who want to keep working together to drive innovation, strengthen collaboration, and create lasting change for a healthier planet."
