Research Interests

I joined UKCEH as Head of Communications and Engagement in 2018.

Previously, I worked as Head of Marketing and Communications for WRAP, where I was responsible for repositioning WRAP’s brand following its transition from government delivery body to not-for-profit organisation, and for launching The UK Plastics Pact.

Prior to that, I held senior marketing and communications roles across the public, private and non-profit sectors, including for Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, Cranfield University and Blackwell Publishing.

I also worked as a freelance journalist, writing regularly for the Independent, and am the co-author with the late Sir Douglas Hague of a book on Oxford University science spin-out companies entitled ‘From Bright Sparks to Brilliant Businesses’ (Bloomsbury, 2010). The book introduces a range of disruptive technologies to lay readers and describes their commercialisation.
