Professional summary

Amy is a molecular ecologist working within the Molecular Ecology group at UKCEH, Wallingford. She is focussed on using molecular techniques, including metabarcoding and metagenomics, to understand microbial community dynamics in response to environmental change in lakes, rivers and soils, and has a key interest in the application of preserved lake sedimentary DNA (sedDNA) to reconstruct past microbial community change.

Amy's PhD is from the University of Birmingham and UKCEH, and titled: ‘Exploring past environments with microbial biomarkers: A molecular approach using sedimentary DNA and 3-hydroxy fatty acids’. She has an MSc by Research in Biological Sciences from the University of Bristol and a BSc in Biological Sciences (Zoology) from the University of Birmingham.
