Professional summary

Mhairi has expertise in the measurement and modelling of the land-atmosphere exchange of trace-gases and aerosols. She mainly worked on ground-level ozone trends, UK climate and deposition, until 2018 when she moved to the James Hutton Institute to work of the greenhouse gas (GHG) dynamics of Scottish peatlands. Mhairi currently works 75% at Hutton and 25% at UKCEH. At Hutton her focus is on measuring GHG exchange over Scottish peatlands to aid efforts to restore them to a functional sink and understand their responses to climate change.

Mhairi's particular experience is in measuring and modelling the deposition, concentrations and trends of ground-level ozone, although she has worked in other areas including acid deposition and ammonia (NH3) exchange. She also assists with instrumentation for field sites and campaigns.
