Flux tower data demonstrate climate benefits of saltmarsh
Saltmarshes are net ‘sinks’ of carbon dioxide, according to pioneering research led by UKCEH. Data come from our flux towers at Ribble Estuary in Lancashire – the first site to measure the full carbon balance of saltmarsh habitat – and nearby Hesketh Out Marsh.
