Current Work

Mike Bowes is a geochemist researching the source and fate of the major plant nutrients (phosphorus, nitrate and disolved silicon) within river catchments. He specialises in nutrient interactions with river bed-sediment and aquatic biota. and has carried out long-term, catchment-scale studies in order to determine the seasonal pattern of nutrient retention and remobilisation within river systems.
