Professional summary

Krisztian is a Research Associate in the Ecology & Evolution group, working broadly in ecological and conservation genetics. His research focuses on understanding genetic diversity and how plant populations respond to environmental variation. He works on large common garden and stress-response trials of Scots pine, including studies on drought, waterlogging and rapid adaptation.

In addition to native British trees, Krisztian contributes to projects on East African productive woody species and the conservation genetics of endemic plants from St Helena. His work involves botanical surveys, population genetic analyses and contributing to projects that explore how different species respond to environmental and ecological pressures. He is interested in combining genetic and field-based approaches to support conservation efforts and improve understanding of how plant populations adapt and persist in changing environments.
