I am a freshwater ecologist with interest in phytoplankton taxonomy and ecological effects, especially harmful algal blooms. I have recently been EQAT certified in phytoplankton taxonomy and biomass assessment.
Current and recent projects include:
- NERC SUNRISE - enhancing freshwaters in India in collaboration with NIH Roorkee, IIT Roorkee and ATREE Bengaluru
- NERC NBSGap - investigating how nature-based solutions are contributing to priority societal challenges surrounding human well-being
- Bloomin'Algae - a Citizen Science project and smartphone app for rapid warning and management of harmful algal blooms
- UKSCAPE Loch Leven - Monitoring restoration impacts and environmental conditions at Loch Leven, Scotland
