The work of molecular ecologist Dr Andrew Whiteley is featured on BBC Radio 4's Nature programme this week. In "The Answer's in the Soil" presenter Paul Evans delves into the fascinating world of the soil and discovers its importance to the quality of our future environment. Dr Whiteley, who works for the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology at our Oxford site, undertakes research which focuses on soil microbes. He is currently involved in the first soil microbe survey of the UK.
