The 100th Scottish Freshwater Group meeting will comprise a special two-day event on 19th and 20th April 2018 to celebrate its 50th year – we have sought offers of talks and posters to develop the programme, with proceedings to be published in the journal Aquatic Conservation. NB: the deadline for abstracts has now passed.
We have encouraged presentations that might reflect on the period over which the SFG has been in existence (e.g. long-time series data, reviews of a particular topic and/or a look forward to the horizon) to help tell a story of past, present and future for freshwater science, policy and practice, drawing on four key themes (each with a designated lead):
- Defining, classifying & assessing freshwaters – Laurence Carvalho
- Pressures on the freshwater resource – Nigel Willby
- The use & value of freshwaters – Chris Spray
- Freshwater conservation & management – Colin Bean
