Pay

In addition to a competitive annual salary, we offer an annual pay award based on UKCEH performance throughout the year.

Pension

All new UKCEH employees will be automatically enrolled into a UKCEH pension scheme. The UKCEH pension is a defined contribution scheme administered and managed by AVIVA.

Life assurance

Employees over the age of 16 resident in the UK will automatically be covered under the Group Life Assurance scheme immediately upon joining the Company. 

Income protection

UKCEH employees over the age of 16 and under State Pension age will automatically be covered under the Group Income Protection scheme. This provides insurance in the event of an employee having a serious illness or a long-term disability.

General

Annual leave

New employees are entitled to 27 days' paid annual leave, rising to 29 days with five years service.

Flexible working

UKCEH aims to support employees where possible who request changes to their working patterns. 

Hybrid working

We currently offer employees the opportunity to work from home two-three days per week. Hybrid working will be under continual review to ensure we continue to meet our organisational objectives.

Special paid leave

We also have policies to enable us to offer paid provisions to support our employees for personal matters, depending on the circumstance.

Dental insurance

Our dental insurance offers reimbursement towards the cost of minor and major dental care.

Eyecare services

UKCEH will cover the costs of an eye examination for all Display Screen Equipment users once every two years, or more frequently if directed by your optometrist.

Occupational health

UKCEH provides access to occupational health practitioners for employees needing assistance with work-related health concerns.

Wellbeing advice

At UKCEH we understand that people are the most important part of our organisation and that is why we have developed an overarching Wellbeing strategy. This is a core element of the UKCEH People Strategy and sets out our Wellbeing vision and core commitments to support and enhance wellbeing.

Gym membership discounts

Welfare support

UKCEH's welfare officers have been trained to help support employees and their families through a variety of problems.

Employee assistance programme

In addition to existing welfare officer arrangements, UKCEH employees and postgraduate students are able to access support from an Employee Assistance Programme. This is a confidential 24hr 365-day telephone service for employees providing a range of wellbeing services to support employees/students in any mental, physical, emotional, health or financial difficulties.
