Scottish Freshwater Ecosystems

CEH scientists conduct core strategic science for the sustainable management of freshwaters. Research focuses on two main themes:

There is a very strong focus on Scotland’s freshwaters and provide advice and scientific support to the Scottish agencies responsible for maintaining and improving environmental quality, such as the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Scottish Natural Heritage and the Scottish Executive. We also work with a range of university and private research organisations across the UK and overseas.
