Land Management
CEH staff at Bangor undertake a wide range of research in land use and management including the effects of tree planting, forest management, grazing and managed retreat in coastal areas. A major project for us currently is Pontbren which is part of the Flood Risk Management Research Consortium (FRMRC) funded by the Engineering and Physical Science and Natural Environment Research Councils, Defra, the Environment Agency of England and Wales, the Scottish Executive, the Northern Ireland Rivers Authority and UKWIR (the UK water utilities’ research organisation).
