EU Infrastructures Projects – CEH Field Sites

The overall objective of the Research Infrastructures part of the FP7 Capacities Programme is to optimise the use and development of the best research infrastructures existing in Europe.

CEH has eight research sites involved in six EU Infrastructures Projects and, as part of the transnational access (TNA) activity of these projects, there are opportunities for researchers or research teams to access CEH research facilities with an excellent combination of advanced instruments and expertise. TNA is provided to eligible user groups. The support to users of the facilities will vary with each project but generally includes:

  • free access to the research sites and facilities
  • administrative and logistical support
  • technical and scientific support
  • specific training
  • free access to information and data in the public domain held at the infrastructures
  • support towards (in some cases fully paid) users’ travel and subsistence costs

CEH carries out monitoring at the Auchencorth Moss catchment (3.35 km2), part of a >10 km2, low-lying, ombrotrophic peatland located approximately 17km south of Edinburgh, Scotland.
