Catchment classification applied to the estimation of hydrological parameters at ungauged catchments - IH Report 118

D H Burn & D B Boorman
ISBN: 0948540400, 1992, £0.00

Although traditionally obtained from regression equations, this 1992 study investigated alternative methods of deriving estimates of hydrological parameters at ungauged sites. It considered methods based on the classification of catchments according to their flow regime, the assignment of ungauged catchments to a class based on physical characteristics and the use of similarity measures to transfer parameters from gauged to ungauged catchments. A step-by-step guide and worked example show how the method can be applied in practice.
