Many species are uncommon, with 26 being classified as National Scarce or Red Data Book status in Britain.
The Atlas contains 14 pages of introductory text, including a check list with synonyms, 10km square distribution maps and brief species accounts for 58 species, glossary of plant names, acknowledgments (contributors of records), short bibliography and index to the maps/species accounts.
