Savage), acknowledgements, and a checklist detailing synonyms and sub-species, the Introduction provides illustrations of the eleven families of aquatic bugs and sections on aquatic bugs and water, aquatic bugs and flight, food, life cycles, habitats, and scarce and threatened species.
The About the Atlas section provides information on the purpose, age of records, earlier distribution maps of aquatic bugs, history of aquatic bug recording, and records and their management.
The Distribution Maps and Species Accounts section contains details for 61 species. For each species there is a Species Map, Distribution information, Habitat information and Helpful hints for identification, many with accompanying diagrams.
The atlas concludes with comprehensive appendices, a glossary, references and an index.
