The Centre for Ecology & Hydrology is delighted to announce that its Director of Resource & Operations, Brian Butler, was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2008 for his support to environmental science.
Brian has had a successful career of 38 years at the Natural Environment Research Council, CEH's parent body. In 1970 he joined as an assistant in the private office at Polaris House. He then progressed through a range of roles covering finance, personnel, commissioned research, site and directorate administration, marketing and awards & training, working at sites in London, Wormley and Swindon. Brian joined CEH in 2001.
Professor Pat Nuttall, Director CEH said, "As Director of Resource & Operations Brian has done a tremendous job in managing and delivering the infrastructure to support our science. I am sure all CEH staff will join me in congratulating Brian on this magnificent achievement."
