The Centre for Ecology & Hydrology has produced the UK contribution to a new land cover map of Europe. The EU's CORINE CLC2000 map allows scientists to compare land cover changes in the decade since the last survey in 1990.
Leading scientist Dr Geoff Smith commented, "The new map gives countries across Europe a high quality dataset for looking at a wide range of issues from water resource planning to biodiversity."
The new UK map will go live next week.
