The Centre for Ecology & Hydrology and the British Geological Survey are representing NERC at a Data Fair organised by the Lighthill Risk Network in London today, Wednesday 1 June 2011. The event, held at the Old Library at Lloyd's, is aimed at showcasing new and innovative datasets of value to industry and the insurance sector, including data on natural catastrophes. Other organisations exhibiting include the Met Office and the Ordinance Survey.

CEH will be exhibiting flood risk tools, including the Grid-to-Grid hydrological model and the Flood Estimation Handbook CD-Rom, as well as highlighting its expertise in research related to other potential areas of risk within the environment, ranging from chemical and biological pollutants to nanoparticles, alien species and human health issues.

The Data Fair is organised by The Lighthill Risk Network, in association with the Financial Services Knowledge Transfer Network, and supported by Lloyd's as part of its ongoing programme to provide opportunities for knowledge and information sharing and networking in financial services.
