The Library Collections
The CEH libraries hold a collection of over 50,000 books and reports, and 4,000 journal titles including 500 current subscriptions, plus maps, CD-ROMs and other media. Material is distributed amongst the four libraries.
In addition to purchasing, material is acquired by exchange agreements with both national and international organisations and through the generous donations of current and former staff and other leading scientists. This provides in-depth, and in many instances historical, coverage of subjects including terrestrial and freshwater ecology, hydrology, microbiology, climate change, environmental chemistry, pollution, land use, remote sensing and nature conservation.
The entire library collection, or the holdings of individual libraries, can be searched through the online catalogue.
The online catalogue also contains details of the Staff Publications Archive. Staff publications from 2006 onwards plus other selected items can be found in NORA, the NERC Open Research Archive.
